#38 Reynolds Raiders visited the #4 Central Catholic Rams tonight for the second round of this match up in the 2013 Mt. Hood Conference. First round on Feb. 18 resulted in a 64-27 victory for Central Catholic with seniors Austin Dyer and Simon Noling leading in scores. Rams picked up right where they left off by stuffing a 70-45 win in their pocket putting them on an eight game winning streak and so far undefeated in the MHC.
Senior Simon Noling was top dog tonight putting up 13pts, followed by Xavier Hallinan with an even dozen, and Mitchell Franz takes a dime.
Rams were quick to put the Raiders in a deficit in the opening minutes with sophomore Deante Strickland on point. With 19-8 at the end of the 1st the Rams poured it on even heavier and opened the gap by another 7pts and kept pressure rolling to close the half 42-24.
Second half had a showing by Freshman La’Mar Winston, when combined with sophomore Blake Brandell became extremely effective at slowing down Raiders scoring. Rams scoring went down as well but still managed to obtain more momentum opening the deficit 4 more points in the 3rd and closing out with an additional 3pts for 25pts total.
Reynolds junior Devante Williams lead the Raiders with 14 pts followed by Drew Eubanks with 9.
Barlow Bruins will be visiting Rams territory this Tuesday night. The Bruins are essentially the last remaining threat in Central Catholics path to the claiming another MHC title. Bruins currently sitting 14-6 overall and 5-2 in the league.
